My dear Miss Sue,
For several weeks I have wanted to write to you to express my sympathy again for you all in
another, and I suppose the greatest, sorrow of your lives. I have felt dumb in the face of such
affliction as has come into your home, and have not known what to say to your aching hearts, except
to assure you of my deepest interest in you all, and my desire to bear the burden with you through
sympathy and love. My family have been deeply touched by your grief and unite with me in wishing
that we could in some way comfort you. I can only say God help you. Affectionately your friend,
								Sallie J. McAden
